We slept in today because we knew we had another late night today. The plan was today was to take as much time as needed in Epcot, and I’ll explain what that’s all about later on.
We got into the park around 11 AM and Fastpasses for Soarin’ were further out than normal. After a ride on Spaceship Earth we picked up our Fastpasses which if I remember correctly were for 6:30-7:30 PM. The other Fastpasses for the park were only 40 minutes out from distribution time to return time.
We hit up several things in Future World, including Ellen’s Energy Adventure for the first time in several years. In fact, today we saw two attractions that included Alex Trebek: Ellen’s Energy Adventure and O Canada.
It had been discussed on our show that I have cancelled Rose & Crown Pub Dining Reservations in the past, we kept them today and were pleased with our meal. We started off with the assorted cheeses as an appetizer. One of the cheeses smelled like a camel. There was no other way to describe the smell and Marie agreed with my description. Having said that, we were able to get past the smell enough to eat it. While it was our least favorite of the three cheeses it was fine to eat. For those wondering, there is in fact a burger on the lunch menu so I opted for that. For a Disney Burger it was good, with two huge cuts of bacon on it. The Kobe Burger at Yak and Yeti is better, but that’s also not technically a Disney burger. Marie had the fish and chips and according to her they were excellent. My last thought on Rose and Crown was that the costumes for the male cast members are somewhat demeaning. They’re made to resemble stereotypical English boys that might be hawking newspapers on a street corner. Our waiter had a hat and knickers on and it didn’t help that he had a bit of a baby face as well.
I don’t usually spend that much time in World Showcase, but today was a huge exception. Consider this the first unofficial announcement of a new project I’m working on with Rob over at WDWLive.com. The project is meant to be a collection of any and all pieces of information about attractions, entertainment, shops, dining and more inside the Disney World parks. One of the things I have been collecting over the past year is restaurant menu information and other theme park layout information. The problem is, much of this information has been coming to me piecemeal and I really haven’t had the opportunity to assemble exactly what I want in ways that I want it. One of the biggest problem areas for me had been World Showcase as I wanted to have the layout information of all the shops, restaurants, etc. as accurate as possible. Considering all this, I have been taking video and photos all trip and today was no exception. Today was actually the most content I accumulated of any day this trip taking over 7 GB of photos and video, most of which was around World Showcase. Look for components of this site to start testing over the next few months, and when it does I’ll be sure to mention it on our Facebook group.
