Tim’s Trip Report – 09/20/2011 – Magic Kingdom/Pandora/AVATARland

Wow, what a day.  Breakfast at Kona was “interesting”.  I may have a report on that later after I clear up all of the story details, but in short I saw a travel agent (that is in no way connected to Pixie Vacations) get rather upset about Orange Juice.

We met up with our friend Zack in the Magic Kingdom and did a grand circle tour of the park when all of a sudden my phone explodes with twitter messages regarding an Avatar expansion to the Animal Kingdom.  Thanks to listener and new friend Gary Hall for tweeting me directly with the news.  I’ll do a write up on this tonight with my full thoughts on the announcement, but in short – I’m optimistic.

We left the park around 4:00 PM, and I spent the time at the airport, the time on the flight and the time at home trying to catch up on the major announcement.

Tim’s Family Trip Report – 03/09/2011 – Magic Kingdom

I’m going to make this one quick.  We had an 8:20 Breakfast reservation at Kona Cafe.  In my opinion, this is one of the best value restaurants at Disney.  Tonga Toast is a very filling meal, and I’ve also had a Teriyaki Steak for lunch that was excellent and also very filling.  These meals are typically under $15, and the food quality is a substantial step up from the counter service locations.

We had a flight to catch at 6:10 PM, so we left breakfast and headed right to the Magic Kingdom where we did a whirlwind tour, seeing 13 attractions by 2:30 PM before leaving the park.  The attractions in order were: Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Hall of Presidents, The Haunted Mansion, it’s a small world, Peter Pan’s Flight, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor.

For the trip I defeated Marie 3-1 on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, I’m relishing this small victory because overall she’s up probably 30-5 or so.

The trip was great, and Brett and I will share our thoughts on the new to us items on this week’s podcast.
