WDW Fan Boys Podcast Episode #124 04/22/2012 – Mickey Avenue/Animation Courtyard/Pixar Place

Play

On this week’s episode of the WDW Fan Boys Podcast we continue our tour of the parks with a look at three small lands in Hollywood Studios.  Mickey Avenue, Animation Courtyard and Pixar Place don’t pack a lot of punch, but they do have a handful of attractions worth discussing.

Tim’s Trip Report – 09/19/2011 – Hollywood Studios/Magic Kingdom

Rope drop to evening Extra Magic Hours can certainly take its toll.  We started out at Hollywood Studios at 9 AM, and there I ran into Matt Hochberg from StudiosCentral.com the WDW Today Podcast and more.  Listeners to our show will also remember Matt from his appearance on our show (alongside Fred Hazelton) to discuss StarTours2Live.com.  I ran into Matt as he was pushing a stroller (conveniently with his baby in it) outside of Tattoine Traders .  We stopped and chatted for a few minutes while everyone else in the park seemed to be either in line for Toy Story Mania or in line to get a fastpass for Toy Story Mania.

Later in the day we met up with listener Gary Hall and his new fiance Julie.  The two of them were nice enough to let us tag along for a few rides in Hollywood Studios before we headed back to All Star Sports a little after 3:00 to relax and not watch the Patriots game (blacked out in Orlando).

We had dinner at Boma at around 7:30 (we showed up early for our 8:25 ADR).  I enjoy Boma but it’s not one of my favorites mainly because I’m not a fan of the meat offerings.  I love the hummus, and the banana and butterscotch bread pudding is awesome, but without sacrificing some wildlife the meal simply won’t be as satisfying.

After dinner we met up with Gary, Julie and a couple of their friends for a whirlwind tour of the Magic Kingdom during Evening Extra Magic hours.  I’d like to thank them all for letting us tag along – it was great talking with fellow Disney fans.  Our listeners can also be on the lookout for a new podcast featuring some of our listeners including Gary, Ryan Barr and Hunter Nixon.  Our own Brett Bennett has already recorded a show with them.  Updated on where to download these shows can be found on our Facebook page when they become available.
